Forty years ago in 1971 the Amersham Round Table held the first Amersham Carnival to raise funds for local charities. This year the Carnival will be based around the Royal British Legion's 90th anniversary and held at King George V field, next to the Chiltern Pools, on Saturday 9th July.

As well as the usual stalls and entertainment, this year's Amersham Carnival will see a procession of military-themed floats through the Amersham town centre on the 9th July 2011. Come and support local charities and have some fun!
The theme for the carnival is 'Carnival of Heroes' and amongst the stalls and entertainment, the Royal British Legion's riders branch will attend with their bikes. You will also be able to see military vehicles and a 1971 series 3 Land Rover HCB Angus Firefly L4P fire engine taking part in the procession.
Following the crowning of the Princesses by the Mayor, a procession of military-themed floats will travel throughout Amersham from 1pm before ending at King George V field. There will of course be a funfair for the kiddies too!
