"I am really happy; it is really uplifting to get such good grades. College has been great; I took a couple of years out before studying A Levels and I found the atmosphere in College to be a lot more mature and supportive than at school and it really worked for me."

Victoria Appleford achieved an A (Media) and two Bs (English Literature, English Language) and will be going to Sheffield University to study Journalism. "I took two years out before coming to College to study A Levels. I have really enjoyed my time here and am extremely happy with my results."

Bryony Marriott got two As (Business Studies, Psychology) and a B (English Language) and will be going to Sheffield University to study Korean Studies and Business Management. "I started to study at school, but it didn't suit me, so I left and came to College. The atmosphere here is great, mature and supportive and I have achieved even better results than I anticipated. I already speak a little Korean and want to work in Korean companies in the UK when I graduate."

BTEC Students

BTEC E-media student Thomas Lishman not only earned himself a triple distinction for his animation work but was presented with an 'Outstanding Achievement' Award at the College's recent TV/Media Awards evening. Thomas's amazing visualisations epitomize the very high standard of work exhibited by the College's e-media students. Speaking about his success, Thomas said, "I've been able to develop my skills and style of animation with some great tutor support. I'm staying on to do a Foundation Degree in September."

Shamsa Ali, a triple distinction BTEC ND Health & Social Care student, said: "My course was brilliant; it gave me such a wide breadth of experience in all sorts of care environments from children through to older people. The tutors are really supportive and College life is very sociable, you learn to mix with lots of different people. In couple of years, I will go on to study nursing. In the meantime, I am working as a Health Care Assistant now at Wycombe Hospital and I really think my Diploma helped me get the job."

Budding business executive, Mariyam Anwar, who gained a triple distinction said, "I started A Levels at school, but really wanted to excel in Business, so I decided to move to the College and do a BTEC National Diploma in Business. I have just achieved a triple distinction and am extremely pleased. I am going to study International Business with Communications at University of Birmingham in October and intend to study in Spain as part of that degree. The College is a bit like university in terms of the responsibility and freedom you get there and it was definitely the right choice for me - it has really set me on the road to success."
