Your rugby and football weekend round-up:

FOOTBALL:

AFTER a frustrating three-week break because of the freezing conditions, the Magpies will finally get to pull on their boots this Saturday when they entertain Bedford at Spratley's Meadow.

Amersham Town FC lost 3-0 when the teams first met in November and since then Bedford have settled into a comfotable mid-table position while the Magpies have been scrapping for points at the wrong end of Spartan South Midlands Division 1.

The Magpies are at home again on Tuesday when they play host to fourth-placed Langford, kick-off 7.30pm.

RUGBY:

Amersham & Chiltern RFC head to Somerset on Saturday as they aim to kick-start their campaign at struggling Bridgwater & Albion RFC.

The hosts, who have won just once this season in National League 3 South West, were one of the few teams to play last weekend, but were hammered 53-5 by Exmouth.

Amersham will certainly have this clash pencilled in as a potential win, especially after they beat the same opponents 38-22 at Weedon Lane earlier in the season.
