  In a response to the traditional rise in burglaries after the clocks go back, Amersham residents are being advised to use timer light switches to deter robbers.  Chiltern Community Safety Partnership is working on this 'Bright ideas' initiative which targets residents who get home after dark in the winter months, such as commuters and late night shoppers.   Police have arrested two people as part of its investigation into the murder of Ryan Cronin in Amersham in August. A 39-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman, both from Hertfordshire, were arrested on September 20. The woman has now been released without charge and the man remains in police custody at this time. Mr Cronin, 41, was found in a flat in Quarrendon Road on August 5.

  On Friday 5th August, a 41 year old man was found dead in a flat in Amersham.  Following a post-morten examination on Saturday 6th August by Stoke Mandeville Hospital, the man was formally identified as Ryan Cronin.  The death at Quarrendon Road is being treated as a murder after an examination by a Home Office pathologist found the victim died from stab wounds.  An investigation has been launched and is being run by...
