My husband drives in everyday and works all across the capital. It takes quite a lot to put him on edge but he came back everyday saying what a weird atmosphere there is there, even now. People are understandably on edge and unsurprisingly there is a lot of anger about how the situation was dealt with. Hopefully we've seen the last of the violence but I think the wounds are going to take a really long time to heal.
We had a few responses from @AmershamPeople followers on Twitter about the London riots. Here's what they had to say:
@GuyBaber said it was 'unbelievable', yet joked about the sirens heard in Amersham being the local police 'just picking up their dominoes'.
@RickyVann said: 'It is absolutely disgusting! How could these mindless idiots destroy our country that we live in?'
@NickBubble said: 'shocking! Kids as young as 10 looting, where are their parents?'
When asked whether they think the Amersham community may see local rioting, our followers had this to say:
@AndreavonBerl simply said: 'no no no'
@Darkcityxx said: Chesham possibly, I doubt Amersham though. There is some tension in Chesham aimed at the mosque and surrounding area.'
@Robskinner told us his wife had asked if they should put the car in the garage.
ANYONE ELSE FEEL TENSE DURING THE LONDON RIOTS?
