With the sunny weather teasing us again, we don our shorts and slops and head for our local pub for a lazy Sunday complete with some shoulder tanning in the beer garden and a Sunday roast.

Hit or Miss Pub, Penn Street Amersham
Hit or Miss on Penn Street, Amersham is a traditional olde world English pub as charming on the outside as it is on the inside, with roaring log fire in the summer and beer garden for the summer days. Their Sunday roast is arguably one of the best Sunday roasts around, and comes with lashings of gravy, a hearty Yorkshire pudding on your top quality beef and plenty of fresh roast veg for £11.50. This is one to hit, not miss.
The Swan, Old Amersham
Open from noon to 9:30pm on Sundays, the Swan in Old Amersham could go unnoticed as it's tucked away at the end of the high street. And this is a pub not to be excluded off any pub crawl map or Sunday roast venture! The Swan boasts 'fresh, honest pub-food' and makes a tasty selection of traditional pub food as well as seasonal dishes. Their Sunday roast consists of 'a sharing platter of prime cuts, roasted throughout the day, with fluffy roasties, bowls of freshly-cooked vegetables & lashings of gravy'. A beer garden at the back makes a great way to spend the rest of the lazy summer's day once your belly is full!
Boot & Slipper, Amersham-on-the-Hill
Located on the roundabout at Rickmansworth Road and Amersham Road, the Boot & Slipper has plenty of outdoor seating and a lovely beer garden where you can relax in your own space in the sun. Their traditional Sunday roast is a topside of beef, roasted half chicken or Wensleydale, cauliflower and red onion pie for vegetarians, served with all the trimmings and available all day for the perfect Sunday.
Sugar Loaf, Little Chalfont
Sugar Loaf in Little Chalfont, Amersham is a lovely traditional pub with gorgeous wooden interior and spacious beer garden at the back, with additional seating at the front and side deck. They serve an a la carte menu of classic European dishes with a modern twist and a traditional Sunday roast that locals with pets can take advantage of as the pub is dog-friendly too!
Harte & Magpies, Magpie Lane Amersham
Harte & Magpies on Magpie Lane, between Beaconsfield and Amersham is another dog-friendly pub with an expansive beer garden, great service and stunning food. Their choice of Sunday roasts include roast lamb, roast beer of roast chicken with roast potatoes, vegetables and Yorkshire pudding for £13.00. They are located on the Chiltern Way walkers path - a truly beautiful way to wind down after a walk!
